RUBY

Female Dog aged 2 years 0 months.

This poor little girl has been through dreadful traumas. She was dumped with a litter of 8 one day old pups, but luckily they were all found and taken into rescue fostering so that Ruby could rear her little family in safety. Despite being in a terrible state, she did a great job with her babies and eventually they all went off to find loving homes. Unfortunately, the stress of rearing for her babies made Ruby very worried about other dogs being around, although she never lost her trust in people, bless her. Ruby's fosterer has worked very hard to get her confident with other dogs again, and Ruby is now fine with other dogs when running free, but can still be a little worried if other dogs approach her when she is on the lead. For that reason we would like to place her in an adult home with a previous dog owner who will understand her, and work with her to make her realise she has nothing to fear any more, continuing the good work of the fosterer. She would do best in a quieter country area where she does not have to deal with lots of traffic, or be exercised in busy parks with lots of other dogs while she is learning. She is a good dog in every other way, well-mannered and affectionate. She just needs love and understanding, and company most of the time.
